A custom-built UK campsite directory powered by GeoDirectory and a fully bespoke theme.
The Campsite Bible is a comprehensive online directory of campsites across the UK. Rather than relying on a pre-made template, I built the site’s WordPress theme entirely from scratch — designed for performance, clarity, and deep integration with the GeoDirectory plugin.
To meet the project’s unique requirements, I also developed a custom plugin to extend GeoDirectory’s functionality, enabling tailored features beyond what the core plugin offers.
The build includes:
- A hand-coded WordPress theme, designed specifically for the directory’s content structure
- Seamless styling and layout integration with GeoDirectory components
- A bespoke plugin to enhance and extend GeoDirectory functionality
- Lightweight, maintainable code for long-term reliability
The result is a fast, flexible, and highly functional directory site — built to serve campers, not fight with templates.
