Movies at the Farm was a one-off festive cinema experience held on a rural farm — combining classic Christmas films, outdoor charm, and seasonal atmosphere. The organisers needed a simple but professional website to promote the event, manage bookings, and handle ticket sales — all within a short timeframe.

How I Helped
I designed and built a completely custom WordPress theme tailored to the event’s branding — avoiding off-the-shelf templates in favour of a lightweight, purpose-built layout.
Using The Events Calendar and Event Tickets as a foundation, I extended the plugin’s functionality to handle some of the more unusual requirements of the farm venue — including grouped bookings, flexible seating rules, and limited-capacity showings with custom scheduling logic.
Everything was built with simplicity and speed in mind — ensuring visitors could find a showing, book tickets, and receive confirmations with zero friction.

The event sold out completely — with the website helping drive interest, manage traffic, and handle ticketing without a hitch. The bespoke build gave the organisers full control over layout, content, and functionality — while the customised booking system ensured the unique quirks of the venue were handled smoothly.
