A Better Buying Experience — Without the Bloat

Green N White needed their WooCommerce site to work harder — and smarter. Their existing side-cart and checkout flow didn’t feel polished, and behind the scenes, things were glitchy and hard to manage. On top of that, they had valuable product reviews stuck in an old WooCommerce install and no clear way to recover them.

What I Did

Custom Cart & Checkout

Working from a detailed spec, I rebuilt their side-cart from scratch and merged the checkout and cart into a single, streamlined page. The result was a faster, more intuitive experience for users — especially on mobile, where most of their traffic came from.

Bug Fixes & Frontend Logic

  • Fixed broken add-to-cart links and homepage product misfires
  • Corrected subscription pricing not updating with selected frequency
  • Adjusted WooCommerce redirect behaviour so users stayed on the homepage after adding products

Review Recovery from Legacy Site

Spun up a temporary staging server to host an old WooCommerce install (sent as a zip), recovered product reviews, and helped integrate them cleanly into the live site — preserving trust signals that might otherwise have been lost.

Additional Enhancements

  • Helped troubleshoot Mailchimp integration and advised on plugin limitations
  • Diagnosed plugin conflicts (e.g. one plugin intercepting cart logic, another causing duplicate cart items)
  • Offered clean code solutions instead of relying on third-party plugin overload
